I surprisingly endorse MGM/UA's HOT TUB TIME MACHINE. After reading one of the earlier drafts during the summer, I was skeptical for the final cut but the team of writers which included Josh Heald, Sean Anders and John Morris delivered. Not only was there a plethora of laugh out loud moments, the characters were so likeable that you personally wished you were back in time with them.

The cast of John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke had the same essential HANGOVER chemistry that made that film so good. Corddry especially surprised me with his oncue line domination. If you get ten of the best comedians in the world and have them say his same lines, this film would have been a bust - kudos to the casting of Lynne Carrow and Susie Farris.

Overall HOT TUB TIME MACHINE was a great comedy that truly made me wanting more, especially William Zabka (the badass from KARATE KID.) Who doesn't like time traveling and debauchery anyway? Hopefully marketing for the film builds and word of mouth spreads because although this isn't THE HANGOVER of 2009, it still deserves a solid 8.5/10.

  1. I didn't even realize that this movie had come and gone already. It looked really funny from the previews! Life in a bus really takes me out of it more than I thought.
